The SigmaCR-Ortho is the smallest and lightest CR (Computed Radiography) system available today, weighing in at 35 pounds and about the size of a desktop computer. The only truly portable system on the market, the micro footprint of the Sigma CR-Ortho allows the utmost in flexibility and portability. Instead of costly film, we utilize reusable phosphor imaging plates, which operate much like film. No dark room is required however, as the phosphor plate technology allows images to retain their integrity under normal office lighting. The exposed phosphor plates are attached to a drum, which is then loaded into a processor where it is scanned into the electronic patient file via the included imaging software. The system comes complete with a computer and all required accessories, making it the most compact and affordable digital x-ray system on the market today.
